Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Christmas is finally here, the most wonderful time of the year!!!. I made dessert for you my lovely readers!. So, I have officially given you the first present...

It's Arroz con Leche or Rice Pudding.

It's a Latin dessert. I bet some of you have tried it before. The recipe varies in every country, I know that in Colombia they add some raisins and some other spices. Here in Venezuela is common to make it with cinnamon mmm... Delicious!

I'll share my recipe with you, but don't tell anyone, it's a secret ;)

Ingredients:
- 1 cup of rice
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- 4 cups of milk
- 1 cup of sugar (If you want it sweeter you can add some more, I like it with just one)
Cinnamon sticks
Powdered Cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Process:
In a saucepan over medium heat, cook the water, rice and salt. When the rice is soft and the grain begin to slit open add the 4 cups of milk, cinnamon sticks and sugar. Cook on medium-low heat until creamy. I would say about 30 mins. Mix constantly so the milk won't burn. Remove from heat and let it chill. Garnish with powdered cinnamon and ENJOY!.

Thanks for visiting and Feliz Navidad to you all!!!

I'm back back back!!!

Hello Hello!!! I'm sooooo happy to be back! I really missed you guys, my blog, my readers, and of course, CRAFTING. On my last post I mentioned that was in Venezuela, eating good stuff hehe. After 2 weeks of eating and just hanging around, the last day finally came :( It was hard to say goodbye and to leave my country and family, but at the same time I was excited because I was gonna see my mom!!! It has been almost 3 years since the last time I saw her :( yes, It was really hard. I can't describe what I felt when I saw her, I waited for that day for several years, and oh! my goodness! It was a very good feeling.

Right now, I'm in Orlando, Florida, where my family lives. I'm visiting for a few weeks and after a while I have to go back to real life. I love it here because they have A LOT of stores and crafting stores, it's really hard to contain myself from buying everything I see. Everything from books, yarns, beads, needles, I feel like I can make anything! well, literally you can with all of the good stuff they have here. :). I'll be making all kinds of new projects. After so many weeks away from the blogging world I feel the urge to make something, on the next post I'll show you what I made on planes and the surprise my mom gave me after I got here :)

So, the last post I said I would post some pictures of Venezuela... Here I have some for you to see ;)

These are -Tequeños- which are very similar to the Cheese Sticks you find on the restaurants. The difference is that Tequeños are made with fresh cheese, kind of like a milky cheese and is wrapped with a dough made with all-purpose flour.

Most of the time they are served with a sauce made with Mayo and garlic (DELICIOUS!!!) and regular ketchup. I know, not a very good thing to eat if you're on a diet :\, but VERY VERY tasty.

Oh my! this was in a seafood restaurant. I ordered a grilled seafood dinner. The dish had, shrimp, octopus, calamari, scallops, salmon, and a few mussels. It was exquisite!!!. This is not a "venezuelan" dish but I assure you they cooked it very well ^_^

I'll be back soon to show you some more pictures. I'm excited to be back! Thanks you so much for stopping back and for visiting me while I was away :)

Ciao, Ciao!!!

Hola Hola, from Venezuela!!!

I wanted to stop by and say hello to you all!!!... We arrived Wednesday night, after long long hours of traveling. It's funny how close we were (Panama) and it took us soooo long to get here... But, in Venezuela many things don't work how they should :\. I must tell you a secret though, I was very brave when I took this picture for you guys!. I'm not a big fan of planes, and I keep the window shut must of the time, so I had to open it!!! can you believe it!? plus, I didn't take just one picture, I took several just in case some were out of focus. That's what I do for you my lovely readers ;). It's silly I know, some might think that I'm a little old to be scared of planes, but I don't really like knowing that there's NOTHING under us.

In this picture I wanted to show you a bit of what I'm working on. I thought I could work on it on the plane, and that it could help me think on something other than "I'm I-don't-know-how-many-thousand-feet off the ground" but my hands were shaking horribly and I couldn't concentrate really. How embarrassing!

One of the things I'm enjoying the most is (of course) the food, oh my! is provably what I've missed the most, and the beaches :). I've taken pictures of our food for you to see later. Don't expect elegant dishes or exotic ingredients, some may seem boring but I assure you'll love it if you tried it sometime... I'll post some more pictures soon.

I'm going to bed now, we have a long day tomorrow. I hope you have a great weekend!!!

See you soon.
Chao, Chao
